Progressive Lessons are typically a little harder lesson than the standard beginner lesson we offer upstairs. They are definitely progressive meaning that we intend on these classes building on the previous class material. We try to get a group of students together that are going to stick with the progressive lesson through all four weeks. It is a great way to get some individual attention from our top notch instructors and the price is very reasonable as well. If you looking for even more personalized attention, please inquire about private lesson from the SwinGallery staff. The cost of a private lesson is about $40 per hour per person or $60 per couple per hour. April Progressive Jitterbug to Lindy Hop Upgrade (Version 2.0) Class: Jitterbug to Lindy Hop Upgrade (Version 2.0) - Beginner Level Lindy Hoppers Time: 8-9pm Thursdays, April 10,17, 24, May 1 - Lower Level Studio Where: The SwinGallery Dance at Step-N-Out Dance Studio at 721 Madison Avenue, Covington, KY Cost: $40/session or $10/night per person - these prices include the $5 SwinGallery Dance (see below) Instructors: Terry & Kandy Thompson-Cannon Details: No partner required. This class will teach you the basics of Lindy Hop and then show you how to upgrade all your standard Jitterbug moves into Lindy Hop (basically 6-count moves into 8-count moves). Lindy Hop is basically an 8-Count dance and the grandfather to all Swing dancing but through the years it has been modified to make it easier to do and faster to learn. We are now going to take dance version and give it an upgrade (like from Win98 to WinXP - not Vista, this stuff is actually fun and it works.) Why Lindy Hop? Because Lindy Hop when done correctly affords the dancer a lot of improvisation and fun time to have fun and dance at the same time and the possibilities are endless to what you can do.
