Joel's vision for what the SnapShots will be:

I hope to nurture the SnapShots so the group becomes an enriching part of our community and also provides enrichment for the individual dancers who make up the group. I want the SnapShots to be a resource for those interested in pursuing swing dance more deeply and intensively. But, at the same time I want the SnapShots to provide a place for those who can only dedicate time or energy in a limited way as well. The challenge is to help people be dedicated and to develop together as a group without being exclusive.

I hope that participation in the SnapShots will encourage dancers to think about their own development in the context of the community of which they are a part. This will be a group effort. Participants should not only be learning, but also helping others learn. Dancers should be performing but also observing others perform, listening and speaking, leading and following.
